Unity Community Primary

I am proud to be the Headteacher at such an inclusive, diverse school. Unity is a friendly school where all staff are really positive and welcoming. Our skilled teachers deliver first class education in partnership with our families and the community.  I have worked in Manchester schools for 25 years and within the Cheetwood area for 15 years, and it is a privilege to be able to lead Unity and I look forward to working with you all in this time.

Pupils’ personal development is a high priority at the school. Leaders consider the needs and differing experiences of pupils carefully. They select activities and opportunities designed to address some of the gaps in knowledge that pupils might have. Leaders focus on making sure that pupils are well prepared for living in a modern and diverse Britain.

We want to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Unity Community Primary School and all of the wonderful teachers. Our son has had such a positive and enriching experience during his time at Unity. The support, care, and encouragement he received have played a huge role in his development, especially in his language skills. We are truly grateful for that. We carry only fond memories from Unity, and we want to thank you again for everything.

With over 30 different languages spoken at our school, Unity is a nurturing, inclusive and and welcoming school. Community, wellbeing and supporting families is central to what we do.

Many pupils join the school from other countries and are at the early stages of learning to speak English when they first arrive. Leaders make sure that pupils receive support to overcome any barriers that they face. Pupils settle and make new friends. Caring staff quickly get to know new pupils. This helps pupils to feel safe and happy at school.

Unity is the best school ever. All the staff are so kind and lovely with everyone, at pick-up they are always there with smiles on their faces. The school has really good communication between kids and staff, which is the most important thing for us. The word for this school is community!

Staff know children well. They provide effective care and support for children at different stages of their development. For example, children with special educational needs and/or disabilities, and those who face other barriers in their lives, thrive happily at school. Staff develop positive relationships with parents and carers. Leaders help parents to support their children’s learning.

Unity staff are resilient, flexible and adaptable to work in a fast-paced, changing environment. All of our staff are committed to making a difference and passionate about providing the best possible education to all of our children.
